T-shirts that fit me well? (Men)?

I am a skinny teenager, with a relatively long body. I usually wear small t shirts because then they aren't so baggy on me. But no matter what shirts I buy or try on, ALL of them have a big "tail" thing going on in the back. I really want a t-shirt that fits snug around my waist, but I've had no luck. Would "Slim-fit" t shirts from hot topic or something work? And I'm not into name brands really. I wear fruit of the loom, hanes, etc because I don't need a giant logo on my shirt. I wear plane shirts. Can anyone help me find shirts that fit my waist well, but aren't skin-tight on my upper torso? Thanks a lot!!! (By the way, I sort of have broad shoulders, if that means anything).
