When Noah built the ark........?

why would God have him build it from gapherwood and pitch. Why would he not have him build it with something more technologicly advanced, since God is all knowing and is omni present. Would God not know to send better technological knowlwedge to Noah? They did at the time use smelters for armor and would make sense that it would have been possible to make it from something that would have lasted to this day giving proof to the story of Noah. Yes I know that some claim it is on Mount Ararat but several have climbed the mountain and we do have satelite technology that would show this in detail if we were to look for it.
